LUMIX G Micro System Camera GF2 - The World's Smallest* & Lightest* Digital Interchangeable Lens Camera with Ease of Operation & High Image Quality

The DMC-GF2 is the world's smallest* and lightest* digital interchangeable lens camera with built-in flash, featuring a touch-screen operation. While shooting, you can operate the auto focus and shutter release at the same time with just a touch. While playing back, you can quickly select an image to view by scrolling images. In the iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode, 7 detection functions work automatically and simultaneously to optimize your settings, making it easier than ever to take beautiful images every time.

The 4/3-type 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor offers the best of both worlds the superior image quality of a CCD sensor, and the lower power consumption of a CMOS sensor. The Venus Engine FHD features advanced signal processing capabilities in both photo and movie recording. With the advanced noise reduction system, you can capture beautiful images even when shooting at high ISO sensitivity levels. The Intelligent Resolution technology is another feature of the Venus Engine FHD. The DMC-GF2 also features accurate, fast contrast AF system.

The DMC-GF2 can record full-HD 1920 x 1080 movies in AVCHD format with high sound quality of Dolby® Digital Stereo Creator. A dedicated button on the top lets you instantly start recording movies without any having to make any extra settings. The popular iA Mode is available in motion image recording. The Touch AF in movie recording lets you enjoy professional-like rack focusing. The DMC-GF2 can save a frame of movie as photo during playback. With the Video Divide function, you can divide a single video into two parts using only the camera.

The DMC-GF2 features the My Color Mode with a total of 8 preset modes, including the Cinema Mode which gives the movie cinema-like gradation. In iA Mode and the My Color Mode, the range of defocus can be adjusted by just moving the slider with your finger. The DMC-GF2 provides a total of 17 Scene Modes, and most of these modes can be used when shooting movies too. With the Full-time Live View function, you can see how these settings will affect the images before they shoot, which makes it easier to capture the exact mood or atmosphere desired.

Both photos and movies on SD Memory Cards are easy to view on a Panasonic VIERA TV with dynamic HD resolution. You simply insert the card into the VIERA Image Viewer on a VIERA TV or DIGA Blu-ray DiscTM Player to play the content. Alternatively, an optional HDMI mini cable can be used to output photos and movies recorded with the DMC-GF2 directly to the TV for easy VIERA Link operation. Pictures taken with the interchangeable 3D lens LUMIX G 12.5mm / F12 can be viewed in 3D via the 3D Image Viewer offering you a whole new exciting experience.

LUMIX G Micro System Digital Camera G2 - Touch-screen Operation with Free-angle LCD & Creative Functions for Both Photos & Movies

The DMC-G2 features a touch-screen operation with 3.0-inch free-angle LCD featuring Full-time Live View and high-speed Contrast AF System. While shooting, auto focus can be set at the desired part of the frame by simply touching the subject to activate the AF in both photo and movie recording. In manual operation, aperture and shutter speed can be set to the desired value by moving the slider. While playing back, you can quickly select an image to view by scrolling images. The DMC-G2 has a 1,440,000-dot equivalent LVF (Live View Finder), too.
The 4/3-type 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor is advantageous for photo and movie recording with its high S/N, thanks to a circuit structure that is unaffected by the noise generated in each of the circuits. The Intelligent Resolution Technology, incorporated in the Venus Engine HD II, determines the subject's contours and colour edges, and emphasizes them during image processing. This lets you capture stunning images with details. The Dust Reduction System helps maintain image quality by placing a Supersonic Wave Filter in front of the sensor.

My Colour Mode makes it easy to customize colour effects to match your mood for both photos and movies. In still image recording, the Peripheral Defocus Mode automatically adjusts the focus to match the AF area you positioned while gently defocusing the foreground and background to emphasize the subject. In movie recording, the Motion Picture P Mode makes adjustment the aperture easily. The iA Mode, featuring Face Recognition function, serves as a combination of functions that makes it easy for anyone to get beautiful photos and movies.

The DMC-G2 can record HD movie of 720P in AVCHD Lite with high sound quality of Dolby Digital Creator. Just press the Motion Picture Button, and shooting begins. The iA Mode can also be activated in movie recording. Still image recording is available during movie recording and can cut out a still image after shooting thanks to the Intelligent Resolution technology. When the DMC-G2 is connected to a Panasonic VIERA TV via an optional mini HDMI cable, the TV's remote control unit can be used to enjoy playing back with greater convenience.

Suitable for a wide range of scenes from portrait to landscape photography, the LUMIX G VARIO 14-42mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH./MEGA O.I.S. offers a zoom range of 28-84mm (35mm equivalent) while featuring its compact size and light weight. It incorporates Panasonic's MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), which makes it easy to shoot clear shots even in low-light situations without hand-shake blur. When the lens is mounted on the DMC-G2, you can use the contrast AF system, which is implemented in the DMC-G2 to offer a variety of convenient functions.
