The new iPod shuffle is jaw-droppingly small. Its half the size of the previous generation, yet theres room for so much more. It's also the first iPod ever to include VoiceOver, a brand-new feature that gives your iPod shuffle a voice. With the press of a button, it tells you what song is playing and whos performing it. Introducing VoiceOver
VoiceOver is the exciting new feature that lets your iPod shuffle talk to you. It entirely changes the way you browse and navigate your music. Say youre listening to a song and want to know the title or the artist. With the press of a button, VoiceOver tells youwithout interrupting your music. VoiceOver can also announce the names of individual playlists meaning you can store and select multiple playlists on an iPod Shuffle for the first time ever.
Because VoiceOver has been created specifically to work with iTunes, it operates incredibly smoothly. As iTunes reads your song information, it uses the new VoiceOver kit to generate the announcements for each individual song, artist and playlist on your iPod Shuffle. iTunes also automatically selects the language and best voice for your song titles and artist names. For example, iTunes recognises the song Ya Viene el Sol by Ozomatli as a Spanish song, so your iPod shuffle will automatically speak that song title and artist in Spanish. If youd prefer to hear that information spoken in another language, you can change the designated VoiceOver language for that song in iTunes. With 14 languages to select from, you're bound to find an option which works for you.
Smallest Ever iPod
At only 45.2mm tall and 7.8mm thick, the new iPod Shuffle is the worlds smallest music player. To keep things compact we've moved the controls from the iPod shuffle to the earbud cord. This allowed us to make the new iPod shuffle dramatically smaller, but not just for dramatically smallers sake. Its also easier to use, with the controls located where you can access them quickly. With command central now strategically placed in this more convenient location, you can navigate your music and activate the VoiceOver feature without taking your eyes off your run, your ride, or whatever youre doing.
Shuffle. Straight. Stop.
The main shuffle switch (now positioned on the top of the iPod Shuffle next to the earbud jack), has three positions. Flip it to the left and your music shuffles for a whatever happens, happens flow. Flip it to the middle and your songs play in order. Flip it to the right to turn it off.
